Privacy Policy

You can play on bububu.games without creating an account. This notice explains the data used to run the site and understand how it is used.

Game progress and preferences

Games and site settings use local storage in your browser to remember progress, scores, theme and preferences. These values remain on your device unless a feature explicitly sends them. Clearing site data removes local saves and settings.

Online Survey Battle matches

Survey Battle sends team names, selected categories, previously seen question identifiers and typed guesses to our server to run the match. Supabase stores match state and a snapshot of its questions. A random access token is saved in your browser; the database stores its hash. Matches expire 24 hours after creation, and expired records are removed during subsequent match creation. Guesses are checked on the server but their text is not saved in the match database. A daily salted hash of the network address is used for short-lived request limits; expired limit records are removed during subsequent requests. Clearing browser storage removes your access token and local question history. This gameplay service is separate from aggregate analytics.

Website analytics and hosting

Vercel hosts the site and provides Web Analytics. We use page-view statistics to understand visits and improve the site. Our Web Analytics integration does not enable analytics cookies. Hosting and analytics can process technical information such as requested URLs, referrers, browser and device information, and IP addresses for service delivery and security.

Game-play statistics

When a game starts, our counter sends its game identifier to the server. A first-party cookie named bububu_play_visitor stores a random identifier for up to one year and is renewed on successful counter requests. We use it to avoid counting repeated launches of the same game within 30 minutes. Local storage also remembers the last counted launch. Upstash stores aggregate counts and temporary deduplication records; visitor-and-game records expire after 30 minutes and rate-limit records after 60 seconds. The counter hashes the network address for rate limiting rather than storing the raw address in its database.

Aggregate game usage and optional ratings

When enabled, our own statistics endpoint receives small batches of counters for site page views and supported games. Public page identifiers are used to count views, first pages, active page time and transitions between known pages. Transition pairs are combined across visits; no individual browsing path, URL query, fragment or external referrer is stored by this collector. Detailed game statistics currently cover Survey Battle: starts, continued matches, answer attempts, matched answers, passes, revealed boards, completed rounds and matches, replay starts, rules, setup changes including adding or removing teams, links to other games and optional positive or negative ratings. Timers estimate engaged time while the page is visible, excluding game pauses and inactivity after two minutes. The new statistics collector uses no cookies, local storage, session storage, visitor identifiers, fingerprinting or recordings. Gameplay answers and team names are not sent. It sends requests without cookies. Counters are combined in hourly Upstash buckets and expire after 32 days; individual event histories are not stored. Hosting providers still process network requests for delivery and security as described above. Existing game saves, preferences, Vercel Analytics and the separate play counter retain their stated behaviour. Ratings are optional and remembered only in memory during the current visit. We use these totals to assess and improve our games. If you select Other when giving negative feedback, we also store your submitted comment and its submission time for up to 32 days. Comments are visible in the password-protected admin dashboard and can be deleted with the selected statistics period. Please do not include contact details. A random submission token, unrelated to your identity, prevents a retried rating from being counted twice; it expires after 32 days.

Your choices

You can remove cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Doing so resets local game progress and preferences. Blocking storage may prevent saves or affect the play counter. This notice explains our current setup; opening or closing it does not grant consent or change tracking settings.
